Plástico Brasil — International Plastic and Rubber Fair — confirmed its position as the largest event in the sector in Latin America.

Wide and varied offer of solutions for the entire plastic chain, full corridors, many businesses, technology and knowledge marked the second edition of the fair and contributed to the modernization of the industrial park and productivity gains at a time of resumption of economic growth.

Between March 25 and 29, there were 800 national and international exhibiting brands that presented in a space of more than 40,000 m².

Content

The offer of high quality technical content occupied a prominent role in Plástico Brasil 2019. There were more than 80 hours of seminars, lectures and workshops, such as Parque de Ideias, VDI Road Show, 1st ABINFER BUSINESS CENTER – ABC 2019, PETtalk 2019, SEBRAE Mobile, Mobile School of Industry 4.0 of Senai - SP and SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die), demonstration of rapid exchange of molds without any human interaction, a format never presented at sectoral fairs in Latin America.

Focusing on productivity and reducing setup time, SMED demonstrated a ROMI EM 170 injector equipped with an advanced rapid mold change system consisting of a robot, magnetic plates and quick coupling systems. Next to the exchange-mold table with Stäubli's magnetism system, the system is suitable for frequent changes of molds in injectors of all sizes. You can see this and much more information in the Post Show Report 2019 edition show.

Held from March 20 to 24, 2017, the first edition of Plástico Brasil was considered a success by the organizers and exhibitors. The first event of the year for the sector, Plástico Brasil was the stage of the highest technology, presented first hand to the market by 400 major brands of the entire plastics production chain: machinery, equipment and accessories, raw materials and resins, molds and mold holders, industrial automation and robotics, among other products, services and solutions.

After two years of stagnation, sales marked the beginning of a resumption of growth in industrial activity. In the International Rounds alone, $30 million in business was generated through 180 meetings held between Brazilian manufacturers and 10 buyers from eight countries (Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, the United States, India, Mexico and Russia).

The São Paulo Expo placed the city of São Paulo on the route of the main events in Latin America, reinforcing the city as a world destination for business and entertainment tourism. With international standards and the management of one of the largest event groups in the world, São Paulo Expo brings together all the elements for successful trade shows.

The location of the pavilion is strategic, 850 meters from the Jabaquara subway and 10 minutes from Congonhas airport. By staying outside the municipal restriction perimeter (driving restriction) of passenger and cargo vehicles, the location facilitates stages of assembly and disassembly of the booths, and access to visitors arriving through the Rodovia dos Imigrantes.

The architectural complex has a modern infrastructure capable of hosting national and international events. It has a garage building with 6,500 spaces and a walkway with integrated access to the pavilion and automated payment.

We are proud of this achievement, but not surprised. It is the result of a number of factors, including the expertise of Informa Exhibitions and the representativeness of the exhibiting companies:  ABIMAQ – Brazilian Association of the Machinery and Equipment Industry and ABIQUIM – Brazilian Association of the Chemical Industry.

Informa, which took up the challenge of offering the market a trade fair that was compatible with the quality and high professional level of the Brazilian plastics industry, brought to the event the premise that guides all its trade fairs: to offer the public experiences and opportunities to generate new business, broaden horizons, provide content and training.

The speed of changes in recent years has significantly affected business relations and, consequently, the profile and objectives of trade shows. Today, best practice suggests that these events should, of course, promote the economic development of the sectors they represent, but they should also go further and offer new experiences and exclusive opportunities for networking and knowledge transfer.
