Plastico

Sustainability at Plástico Brasil

As the leading event for the machinery and equipment industry in Latin America, Plástico Brasil reaffirms its commitment to sustainability. For us, balancing environmental awareness, social equity, and economic viability is more than a goal; it is our responsibility to the future.

We recognize the logistical and carbon emission challenges of the sector, but we see them as drivers of innovation. We focus on energy efficiency, sustainable raw materials, and the development of human-centered technologies. Plástico Brasil is the ultimate platform to transform these challenges into real practices, uniting the industry in a collective movement for a sustainable future. Join us in this transformation.

As part of our commitment, we focus on three sustainability pillars:

Incorporating sustainability into our brand to inspire our sector to be more sustainable, promoting the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • Reduction of printed materials with FSC certification;
  • Interactive map available on the Plástico Brasil Xperience platform;
  • Use of LED lighting in the pavilion and Informa spaces, and optimization of air conditioning use to reduce energy consumption;
  • Selective waste collection and environmentally responsible disposal of all waste generated at the event;
  • Service Areas (Exhibitor Service, Registration, and VIP Club) assembled with modular and reusable structures;
  • The carpet was made from recycled PET and PP, with parts reused from previous events. After the event, the carpet will be reused in future events or recycled and transformed into new products;
  • Inclusive dining options, with vegetarian and vegan alternatives available at the event's restaurants and snack bars;
  • At the end of the event, a designated area will be provided for the conscious disposal of credentials, which will be reused at future events.

To contribute at least 1% of pre-tax profits to community groups, to champion diversity and inclusion, and to create value for our host cities:

• Hiring People with Disabilities (PWD) in partnership with the PAE (Efficient Attendant Program);

• Electric wheelchairs are available for accessibility at the event;

• Wellness Area: To promote greater well-being for visitors while at the fair. This area includes:

      - Recharge your cell phone: dedicated area for free cell phone charging;

      - We will have a wellness area with coworking space;

      - Hydration station.

Better Stands: Walking together towards reused stands

Created by Informa in 2019, Better Stands is a global program aimed at eliminating stand waste.

To achieve this, we encourage exhibitors and stand builders to replace disposable (single use) stands with reusable ones, significantly reducing environmental impact

Why join Better Stands?

Disposable stands account for more than 70% of the waste generated at events, causing significant environmental problems. Better Stands was created to address this issue, aiming to transform events into examples of sustainability and safety.
